German Embassy...check!

Today was wild.  We went to the German Embassy and got the run around.  We had everything they told us to bring except those important things they forgot to mention.  Note to future traveling families...if you fly through Germany, even a 5 minute layover, you have to get a transit visa for your child/ren.  I saw an adoptive family I recognized from their blog...funny.

We went to the ALERT leprosy hospital and bought some goods.  It was an awesome place.  Then we drove out to the outskirts of Addis for a view.  Now we're home and ordered dinner to the room so Silas can take his nap.  He's a trooper.  He took his morning nap in my arms, and I'll admit I enjoyed the snuggle a lot.  He probably would have slept longer in the crib, but we had no choice and it was a good bonding time.  I can't get enough of that kid!

We really want to come on home, but the KLM office here said we'd have to buy all new plane tickets (no thanks) and we haven't heard back from our travel agent.  So, we'll probably be here until Tuesday and that's ok too.  I knew we would be exhausted staying this long.  But it's wonderful overall.

Marshall is feeling back to normal today.  He took some meds and is A Okay now.  I'm so glad...it's hard to be sick and especially far from home.  Thanks for your prayers.

I'm off to buy some bottled water and then to dinner with my boys in the room.  Love to you all!  Thanks for checking in!

love,
jill, marshall & silas

ps: When we got Silas' passport and immigration envelope yesterday, we noticed that his passport photo looks just like my passport photo I had taken at 3 years old.  I was thinking it and I showed it to Marshall without saying anything...he said, "Silas looks just like you in your passport photo!!"  The boy looks just like his momma and I couldn't be prouder!

I love reading your posts! Thanks for the update and we are glad Marshall is feeling better. Just for curiosity sake, what meds did he take to feel better? Is it something we should take when we go? :)
Of course, your boy looks like his mama...your his mama!!! :) So cute!

Hey friend. I am so happy you are on the road to home and everything is set. Glad Marshall is feeling better. You stay well!

I told you Silas looks like you. I think you and Marshall favor each other some. You know they say we are attracted to people that look like us. Chris and I got of those comments when we were younger. Of course, they came with ignorant comments about being from WV, but what do you expect? :)

I'll be glad when you get home and I can "talk" to you! :) This has been quite the week and I've missed ya!

Love ya,
KP
