bath time conversation between mom & son

Mom: Look at you splashing that water! Sweet boy!!

Silas: (splash, splash)

Mom: You are growing like a weed. Oh, what's that? Your diaper was just wet...how did I miss that?

Silas: (splash, grunt)

Mom: Oh no you aren't. You're not doing that in the bath tub, are you? Oh no. Oh yes you ARE. Marshall!! Could you come give us a hand with the sprayer?

Silas: (grunt, splash, smile)

Mom: Honey, could you take care of cleaning up the bath tub while I get Silas ready for bed?

Well, it was bound to happen. Another one for the baby book, I'd say.

That is a good one. Boys will be boys. Believe me I have two little once at home!

Thankfully, my neat-freak OCD boy has never done this. I think it would have mortified him if he had.

It was a funny convo though. Poor Marshall. Dads get all the luck. :)

Oh, yes...isn't that FUN! Been there done that. Jill, way to delegate the clean up task.

Oh my gosh, Jill!! I didn't realize you were already home with Silas - congratulations!! He is beautiful! And sorry about the bath - not one of the more glamorous aspects of mothering.

Oh, we've had that too, curteously of our little boy. I so should have delegated clean up like you did though. I remember that for next time. Did I just say that? I hope there isn't a next time.

The trick here is a quick bath. Or, make sure to read the warning signs closely and then act quickly. If there are bubbles in the tub not made by the soap: Do Not Pass Go. Do not collect $200. Get the baby out of the tub!

Or...don't worry about it and let daddy clean it up (this doesn't work well when daddy is TDY or deployed, so it's good to be used to having an eye out for signs of bathtime poopage).

Love the pictures & updates. Silas is such a cutie!

Love,
