Chapter 2

This time two years ago we began the process of adopting Silas. The Lord said, "What are you waiting on?" and we went for it. Oh the blessing of obedience.

This time last year I was feeling desperate. Desperate for my son that I had never seen. We knew our referral was coming as the agency was lacking one piece of paperwork before they could officially give us the referral. We would hear any day. Those days became painful as they became more than a week. And then we met him, that 10 week old, tiny boy with huge eyes. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. And now my big 14 month old is asleep in the next room as we begin to tackle the paperwork for his siblings.

Two years, almost to the day, we are beginning again. Back to Ethiopia we go! I'll never be the person I was before Ethiopia came into my life. I hope you'll stay with us as the journey continues and our family grows...stay tuned.

Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. Isaiah 43:5

Siblings? How exciting! I remember you from AW yahoo group days, and I was so happy to see your comment on our blog recently.

When we went to get our fingerprints done with Dosen, the clerk said, "your first adoption?" When we shook our heads, she confidently said, "You'll be back to see me. I promise." Adoption is like the greatest "bug" you can ever catch.

Congratulations. I pray the next leg of the journey is just as blessed as the first leg was. Mr. Squishy Cheeks will be a wonderful brother and I can't wait to meet his siblings (and him for that matter...).

Love ya!
