chasing paper
Here we go...let the paperchase begin! For all of you new to this process, paperchasing is gathering all of the documents for your homestudy and dossier. It's tedious and taxing, but I'm up for the challenge. Since I'm a list maker, I love accomplishing tasks and putting that check mark beside them. So when our agency, AWAA, emailed us lots of information that included a Dossier Tracking Sheet, I got all giddy and pumped up with adrenaline. I know...I'm crazy. What's new? You should see my awesome 3 ring binders I've got going on...I'll take a picture when my camera battery charges.
I need to call our Family Coordinator later with some questions because while I thought I would never forget some things in this process, I did.
We've had crazy beautiful weather this week. It makes me happy.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. You make me happy.

referral-iversary!
One year ago today we made the phone call that would change our lives for ever. Our agency told us about our 10 week old son named Mezmur. These pictures took our breath away.
He's still taking our breath away....from chasing him!!
Oh sweet Silas, I can't imagine life without you. Happy referral-iversary!

Chapter 2
This time two years ago we began the process of adopting Silas. The Lord said, "What are you waiting on?" and we went for it. Oh the blessing of obedience.
This time last year I was feeling desperate. Desperate for my son that I had never seen. We knew our referral was coming as the agency was lacking one piece of paperwork before they could officially give us the referral. We would hear any day. Those days became painful as they became more than a week. And then we met him, that 10 week old, tiny boy with huge eyes. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. And now my big 14 month old is asleep in the next room as we begin to tackle the paperwork for his siblings.
Two years, almost to the day, we are beginning again. Back to Ethiopia we go! I'll never be the person I was before Ethiopia came into my life. I hope you'll stay with us as the journey continues and our family grows...stay tuned.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. Isaiah 43:5
