arrived in the mail yesterday!!! Actually, they were here on Friday, but the mail window wasn't open when we went by. When I picked them up, the mail clerk said that the envelope looked important and he didn't want to bend it by shoving it into our box. I appreciate that.....I mean, he didn't know that we were waiting for them.....and staring at the little yellow claim slip through the mailbox window. He was just being nice. :)
My sweet friend scanned them for us and I emailed them to our social worker. Hopefully our home study is almost completed. Wow, the paper chase is almost over.
Oh yeah, the background checks came back clean.....in case you were wondering. :)

Not much going on....
I wish there was more to report, but we did call Texas yesterday and the background checks are in the mail.
Other than that, all's quiet on the adoption front.
Hope you're having a great day!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter everyone!
We had a great day today....a wonderful church service, lunch with precious friends, a walk with Sophie and phone calls to our families.
We pray that your day was blessed as you celebrated the true meaning of Easter.....the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Nothing new to report on the adoption. Still waiting for the background checks to come in the mail. We're trying to rest in the fact that God is in control. Finishing up the few loose ends of paperwork that we have "control" over is all we can do. There really is freedom in realizing that we're not in charge of things. I like it!
Thanks for checking in....more later!

The Letter by Steve Green
I heard this song today. Made me cry. Not a sad cry, but a happy cry. My heart is just overflowing with love for Noah and all of the children like him. I am honored that the Lord has chosen Marshall and I to be parents to an orphaned child. We are blessed. We get to live out what God has done for us.....He chose us. He adopted us into His family.
I praise You, Lord, that you did not leave us as orphans (see John 15:18). You keep Your promises.
Here is the song:
My child, I pray you'll listen to a thing I must confess,
you've been a treasure buried deep within my busyness.
You were not born into this world to live an orphan's life,
and by God's grace I long to make it right.
Your life's a living letter, that's a sacred certainty.
A poem of perfect praise, that's what I hope you will be.
It's all you were and all you are and all you'll ever be.
Your life's a letter written there by me.
Day by day I write across the pages of your life,
Some sentences of kindness and some paragraphs of light.
May they be words of love and words of hope not words of dark despair,
For on your soul the world will read them there.
Your life's a living letter, that's a sacred certainty.
A poem of perfect praise, that's what I hope you will be.
It's all you were and all you are and all you'll ever be.
Your life's a letter written there by me.
